Lynn, who had already tossed two no-hitters and one-hitter this season, breezed through the Lady Eagles lineup and did not alone a ball out of the infield, while recording six strikeouts.
Bloomsburg opened the scoring in the first inning when Nikki Shiko (Kulpmont/Southern Columbia) walked, stole second, went to third on an error and later scored on a wild-pitch. In the second inning the Huskies made it 4-0 when Kayleen Sidisky (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) hit a solo homer to left field and Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) later followed with a two-run single. The Huskies extended their lead to 6-0 with two runs in the third. Missy Bachert (Coplay/Parkland) had a sacrifice fly RBI, while Lynn had an RBI single.
Bloomsburg put the game out of reach with six runs in the fourth. In the inning, Mandy Koch (Dauphin/Cenral Dauphin) had an RBI single and Jenn Davis (Center Valley/St.Patrick's-St. Vincent's) had a bases loaded walk that scored a run. In addition, Casey Massimini (Downingtown/Downingtown West) drove in two runs with a single and Lynn helped her own cause with a two-run double to make it 12-0.
The perfect game was the third in Bloomsburg's long and illustrious NCAA post-season history. Previous to Lynn's effort against NCCU, Jill Solinski had tossed a perfect game in 1986 against UMASS-Lowell, while in 1995 April Paoli was perfect against California (Pa.).
Lynn also led the Huskies at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBI. Reed was 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Tiff Corliss (Lewisburg/Mifflinburg) scored twice for Bloomsburg (36-13), which advances to Friday's game vs. the winner of the Kutztown/Edinboro game at 4:30 p.m.. North Carolina Central falls to 31-12 with the loss.
